- Information you give us. When you use our contact form, leave a comment, or subscribe to our email list, we collect what you submit, such as your name, email address, and message.
- Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we collect standard analytics data: pages visited, approximate location (city level), device and browser type, referral source, and time on site. This data is aggregated and does not directly identify you.
- Cookies. Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We and our partners use them for analytics, remembering preferences, affiliate tracking, and, where present, advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
How we use your information

- To send our email newsletter, only if you subscribed. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
- To understand which content helps readers, so we can make more of it.

Comments
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained so we can display it and detect spam. An anonymized string created from your email address may be provided to the Gravatar service to check if you have a profile picture there.
How long we keep data
Contact form messages are kept as long as needed to handle your request. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely so follow up comments can be recognized. Analytics data is retained per our analytics provider’s settings.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including the EU/EEA under GDPR and California under CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise any right, email hello@lacedopamine.com and we will respond within the legally required timeframe. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Children’s privacy
This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Data security and transfers
We use reasonable technical measures, including HTTPS, to protect your data. Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States, with appropriate safeguards where required.
