Lace & Dopamine publishes soft, practical, science-informed content for women with ADHD. These guidelines explain how that content is created, reviewed, and kept trustworthy — because you deserve to know where your information comes from.
Who writes here
All content is created under the editorial direction of Emma, the site’s founder, who lives with ADHD and was diagnosed as an adult. The perspective here is first-hand experience, combined with careful research — never clinical authority we don’t have.
How a post is made
- Lived experience first. Topics start from real questions and real struggles — ours and our readers’.
- Research second. Claims about how ADHD works are checked against reputable sources, including peer-reviewed research and established clinicians such as Dr. Russell Barkley, Dr. Edward Hallowell, and Dr. Gabor Maté.
- Human review. Every post is read and edited by a person before publishing — for accuracy, tone, and to make sure it stays gentle and shame-free.
- Sourcing. Where a specific study, statistic, or expert view is cited, we link to it so you can read the original.
Our standards
- We never claim to cure, heal, or “fix” ADHD. It isn’t something to fix.
- We don’t give medical advice. Health-related posts carry a disclaimer and encourage you to consult a qualified provider.
- We avoid toxic positivity, hustle-culture framing, and shame-based language.
- Product recommendations reflect genuine use or honest research — see the affiliate disclosure.
- We use inclusive, person-first language and choose words that respect neurodivergent readers.
Accuracy & corrections
We work hard to get things right, and we’re human. If you spot an error — a broken link, an outdated fact, a claim that needs a source — please email hello@lacedopamine.com. We review every report, correct what needs correcting, and update the “last updated” date on substantive changes.
Updates
ADHD research evolves, and so do we. Posts are reviewed periodically and refreshed when the information changes. Related: our AI content policy and about page.
