Every post on Lace & Dopamine follows the same standard: grounded in lived experience, checked against published research, and reviewed by a real person before it goes live. This page explains exactly how that works.
Our mission
Lace & Dopamine exists to give neurodivergent women practical, gentle, science backed content about living with ADHD. We write for real life, not for an algorithm, and we never publish content designed to shame readers into change.
Who writes this content
All content is written and reviewed by {{AUTHOR_NAME}}, an adult diagnosed with ADHD who lives the topics covered here. We are not medical professionals, and we say so clearly on every health related post. Lived experience is our foundation; research is our guardrail. You can learn more on the author page.
How a post gets made
Each article moves through five steps before publication:
- 1. Research. We gather published research, expert commentary, and real community experiences on the topic.
- 2. Drafting. We use AI writing tools to assist with drafting and structure. Details are in our AI Content Policy.
- 3. Human review. Every draft is read, edited, and fact checked by the author. Personal stories and experiences in our posts are real and human written.
- 4. Quality audit. Each post is checked against an internal checklist covering accuracy, sourcing, disclaimers, readability, and brand voice before publishing.
- 5. Ongoing updates. We review and refresh published content on a regular cycle so information stays current. Each updated post shows a revised date.
Our sourcing standards
When we reference ADHD science, we rely on established researchers and clinicians, including Dr. Russell Barkley, Dr. Edward Hallowell, and Dr. Gabor Maté, and on peer reviewed studies where available. We do not cite miracle cures, unverified claims, or sources that frame ADHD as a moral failing.
Health and medical content
ADHD is a health topic, and we treat that seriously. Posts touching health, supplements, hormones, or nervous system regulation carry a clear medical disclaimer at the top. We share personal experience and research summaries only. We never diagnose, prescribe, or suggest replacing professional care. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before making health decisions.
Product reviews and affiliate independence
Product recommendations reflect personal use or careful research, never payment. Some links are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships never decide what we recommend, and we openly share when a popular product did not work for us. Full details are in our Affiliate Disclosure.
Corrections
If you find an error, please tell us through the contact page or at hello@lacedopamine.com. Verified errors are corrected promptly, and meaningful corrections are noted in the post.
Advertising and sponsored content
Editorial content and advertising are kept separate. If we ever publish sponsored content, it will be clearly labeled as such. Display ads, when present, are served by our advertising partners and do not influence what we write.
