AI Content Policy

Last updated: July 2026

We believe in being honest about how our content is made — including where technology helps. Here’s exactly how AI is and isn’t used at Lace & Dopamine.

The short version

Every post is directed, reviewed, and approved by a real person — Emma — who lives with ADHD. AI tools may assist with drafting, structuring, or research, but they never publish unsupervised, and they never replace lived experience or human judgment.

How we use AI

  • As a drafting and editing assistant — to help organize ideas, tighten wording, and structure articles.
  • As a research aid — to surface sources and summarize information, which is then verified by a human against original references.
  • For visuals — some illustrations and graphics on the site are AI-assisted; these are treated as illustrations, not photographs of real people or events.

How we do not use AI

  • We do not publish AI-generated content without human review and editing.
  • We do not let AI invent personal experiences, statistics, or expert claims.
  • We do not use AI to fabricate reviews or pretend a product was tested when it wasn’t.
  • We do not present AI-generated images as real photographs of real people.

Fact-checking & accountability

Anything factual — how ADHD works, what a study found, what an expert recommends — is checked by a human against reputable sources before publishing, and linked where it matters. The lived-experience parts of our writing are exactly that: real, human, and ours. Our full process is in the editorial guidelines.

💙 Technology helps us write faster and clearer. It doesn’t get to decide what’s true, and it doesn’t get to speak for our experience. A person always does.
